Slovenia - White Water Progression
|
Inspiration in Europe's best white water teaching venue. Nestling just beyond the old Iron Curtain, Slovenia’s Julian Alps provide the exceptional setting for Europe’s premiere White Water learning destination – the Soca river. Beautiful crystal clear water and plentiful class 2-4 rapids make this an ideal location to get to grips with modern, dynamic kayaking and our top class staff will ensure you leave ready to take on the world! We'll introduce fundamental aspects of White Water kayaking – balance, proactivity and timing, giving you the tactics and techniques you need to gain independence on the river.
Programme: Day one: Arrival day. A chance to relax and sample the local culture. Day two: We’ll establish aims and objectives, before going for a shakedown paddle to blow away the cobwebs and give us a chance to establish key areas for development. Day three: A look at practical river safety solutions. Day four: Time to break it all down and look at the key principles of White Water kayaking. Day five: Time to focus on developing safe group strategies, ensuring you’ll be a valuable member of any group on the river. Day six: Final paddle to put all of the concepts we’ve covered into practice, as well as bag some nice pics and video, followed by a detailed debrief and action planning session. This will enable you to continue to develop your kayaking once you return home. Day seven: Departure Obviously, this is a sample programme. This could change depending on water levels, abilities and aims within the group.
