Learn to Kayak

Get involved in Britain's fastest growing water sport and find out what all the fuss is about! This 5 day introduction to kayaking will give you a solid foundation to progress from, delivered by some of Britain's finest coaches.

The course is based in the picturesque Vale of Llangollen, North Wales, offering an excellent blend of rivers and lakes for you to get to grips with.

The course is fully residential and all kit is provided. All you need to bring is yourself and a willing ness to get involved!

Steep Creeking / Freeride

Now it’s hotting up - things are getting steeper, faster and more critical. This course builds on the core concepts of white water kayaking, focusing particularly on advanced ideas, such as boofing and flaring, along with developing coping strategies for dealing with challenging environments. River Leader Masterclasses

Guiding others along their chosen white water progression is a role that requires immense knowledge, experience and ability. We can set you well on your way to gaining these attributes with our Fast Track courses. Based in Scotland, the courses offer an intensive route towards becoming an excellent river leader.

The courses focus on personal skill development, environmental understanding and hazard perception, group dynamic, leadership styles, communication, risk assessment and practical rescue and first aid solutions, along with a strong theoretical element.

The courses respectively cover the pre-requisite elements for the BCU 4 and 5 star white water leader awards.

Learning to Coach:

Coaching Fundamentals

While the BCU UKCC scheme is very good, we accept that it doesn't cater for everyone. There are many who want to learn the fundamentals of coaching without the pressure of a formal exam. That's why we've developed this two day workshop. It focusses on the core principles of effective coaching, giving you the tools to help your mates and colleagues develop their boating.
